Walt Disney Concert Hall | Los Angeles, CA | Frank Gehry
An internationally recognized architectural landmark, Walt Disney Concert Hall is not only one of the most acoustically sophisticated concert halls in the world, but is also an iconic example of deconstructivist architecture, a type of postmodern architecture with roots in the late 1980s.
despite receiving some criticism, i feel that the concert hall is a beautiful piece. i think it achieved a lot for its time, having perfectly constructed curves and used materials that stood out from everything else around it. it’s not typical for architecture to contrast starkly against its site and surroundings but i strongly believe it’s made for an iconic building.
